Established in 2009, ALTEN GROUP (Alternative Energy Group) is a subsidiary of United Enterprises International (UEI) group – www.ueiholding.com.

ALTEN GROUP specialises in R&D, manufacturing and distribution of renewable energy products and sources. The company operates throughout Azerbaijan, and is currently formalising its international expansion programme. ALTEN GROUP works in close collaboration with the Azerbaijani government in realising Azerbaijan’s renewable energy potential.

ALTEN GROUP focuses on developing renewable energy projects through a local partner network established in collaboration with regional executives, farmers, private property owners and the public sector. It also co-operates with international bodies as part of its knowledge outsourcing and production upgrade programme. The company is dedicated to implementing biogas, wind, hydro and solar technologies across Azerbaijan, together with pioneering and establishing a mass solar streetlight concept and biogas reactor facilities. ALTEN GROUP is currently designing a hybrid powerhouse, combining biogas production facilities, wind turbines and solar PV systems, being unique in the Middle East, Caucasus and Europe. The company utilises state-of-the-art technologies in its production methods, massively reducing electricity consumption and the level of pollution associated with traditional production techniques.

ALTEN GROUP invests in next-generation materials, enabling the company to design and construct superior product lines. The majority of parts used in the company’s alternative energy products are sourced from local manufacturers, allowing the company to a deliver competitively priced, affordable suite of products.

As oil reserves diminish, alternative forms of energy are steadily gaining prominence due to their sustainable nature. Fossil fuels are gradually losing popularity due to rising prices and the environmental impact. Elmar is the General Director of ALTEN GROUP and is responsible for supervising the company's management processes. Educated at Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom, and the University of Pennsylvania, United States, he has expert knowledge of International Business Management and Environmental Studies, specialising in alternative energy development.
